Yes I am still alive. I know it doesn’t look like at the moment, but yes this blog is also still alive!
The reason is, I am very busy writing my diploma work to finish my studies until September. So, there is no way of thinking on vacation or holidays or a trip in the next months which means that there will be not much going on here. I am sorry.
But I promise, after I have my diploma, I will present you a truckload of new pictures with Buddy on tour.

A fellow student an I are doing a project for the subject “Basics of Picture and Sound Editing”. The task is to make a commercial or promoting video. So, we decided to make a promotion video for the voluntary fire fighters, especially for younger persons.
To get some impressive pictures and video takes we burned down a car, what brought us really great shots :). (Taken in October 2010)

The “Kreuzberg” respectively “Kloster Kreuzberg” (Cross Mountain Monestary? smth. like that *g*). It is also called the holy mountain of the Frankonians. As you already should know, Franconia is a part of Bavaria (Germany). It is my home area and this monestary on top of the mountain is about 22km away from my home village. The top of the mountain itself is 927.8m high. It is a tradition to walk regularly up there. It takes you about 4-6 hours, depends how fit you are ;).
In the monestary there is still an old traditional brewery which makes one of the best beers I know :) and this beer really is a good motivator to move on and get your ass up there. The catering isn’t done by the monks anymore but the food is still very good. It is traditional heavy German food and perfect after 5 hours of walking.
We did the last hike/walk up there in January 2011 and we had perfect weather for that time of the year, as you can see on the picture.

Also “Lohr am Main” (Germany). On the old bridge over the river Main, there is this statue of a tusker standing. I don’t know why *g*.
And also a brewery in “Lohr” is producing a white beer, called “Keiler Weizen” (Tusker White Beer), which actually is a very good white beer :).

The “Lohrer Schloss” (Castle of Lohr) in “Lohr am Main” (Germany). It was built in 1340 and first was just a defense tower. During the time there were several parts added and finally it was this castle.
Urban legend or true? I don’t know… but it is said, that in this castle the original “Snow White” was born as “Maria Sophia Margaretha Catharina Freifräulein von Erthal”. The girl, the fairy tale was based on, which the Brothers Grim later wrote down as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. The Dwarfs in this story would have been mine workers, who usually were from smaller size to fit into the small caves and mines. (Source only in German)
There is also a Wikipedia article about Lohr am Main, if you are interested in more details of that city.

A nice landscape picture, made in Finland in July 2010 not far from Joensuu, during a very great summer trip.
I didn’t recognize at all, that there was “Offspring” written on this stone. The first time I saw it was on the PC. Anyway, it’s still a nice Buddy picture.

This picture was taken in October 2010 in Berlin (Germany) on the “Potsdamer Platz”. There is this metal plate inside the ground to remind on the position the Berlin Wall has had during the separation time of Germany. Next to that spot you can also see some pieces of the wall. (Here’s a google streetview link)

This is Buddy on the old bridge of Lohr am Main (Germany) after two days with lot’s of snow. You see here the river Main which is one of the longest rivers of Germany and flows through my home area Franconia which is the northern part of Bavaria.

A happy new year to everybody.

Yes I know there was not much going on here lately. At the moment I am running out of pictures but I hope to travel soon again and have some new material to post here. Till then I will try to shoot some pictues from my home region. Might not be as spectacular as a big capital city but I’ll find some nice spots anyway.

I made this picture in Tampere (Finland) in July 2010. I thought it would be a nice spot for a picture with Buddy. But I still have no idea what this sculpture is about, if somebody knows, please tell me :).
